This album has just two singles in it. Allow God and Sovereign and they are heavily in demand. The inspiration for Allow God came on the background of the scripture that says, by strength shall no man prevail, most times we rely so much on our academic prowess, our intellectual agility, our righteousness and I realised by all these we will surely fail, we must step aside and allow God to step in because when He steps in, every situation becomes calm. For the second song Sovereign, the inspiration came when I was traveling to Lagos early this year, I boarded one of the airlines, we got to a point and suddenly the plane refused to move for some few minutes.
Everybody on board started screaming, confused, shouting and praying, some crying. In the midst of all the fracas and confusion, ‘I heard a voice I am a Sovereign God, I rule and control and nothing happens without my direction or permission.’ God works not just some things but all things according to the counsel of His own will. And I have decided that the proceeds of these two songs will go to charity.
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
In 5yrs, time by God’s grace my desire is to impact my world positively through my songs, and also have my songs in almost every home in Nigeria and beyond.
What is your take on the current state of the Nigerian entertainment industry?
You will agree with me that the current state of nigerain entertainment industry needs help. Yes, we are growing fast but we need the government and private individuals to support, invest, promote and project our entertainment industry. I wil not conclude, if I don’t narrow this to my immediate constituency which is gospel music industry. The major challenge is funds. Gospel artistes struggle so much to bring out their works. There are a lot of talented individuals with inspiring songs but they can’t be heard because there’s no organise platform created to promote and project them.
You once said in an interview that packaging is important for any gospel musician. Please explain further
To excel in life you must dare to be different. Don’t follow the crowd, take time to seek the face of God. Don’t be in a hurry to be noticed, package and develop ur gift. Your lyrics, your instrumental should reflect where you want to be, distinguish your self from the multitude. Don’t do what everybody is doing, add value to yourself and your work.
What should your fans expect from you in the future?
If you believe in me please pray for me, for more insights, new words from God, resources to do what he has called me to do.
Any last words?
Expect more inspiring songs that will change our world, circumstances, and also heal your heart and body. Lastly no matter the situation, or what you are passing through I plead with you to allow God to work. Just step aside and allow God to step in.
